Very fashionable throughout the nineteenth century, the model of patent leather Opera slippers has gradually simplified to gain in finesse. Today they are a great classic shoes for the most formal events. The Opera model is recognizable thanks to its bow at the front, its low-cut shape and its quilted satin lining.
For this collection of slippers, CINABRE called on one of the greatest specialists in the field, Bowhill & Elliott, whose workshop was founded in Norwich, England in 1874. Since then, Opera slippers have been made there entirely by hand, thanks to an artisanal heritage passed down for 5 generations.
Our black patent Opera slippers are made using traditional shoemaking practices. The Opera Tuxedo Shoe has a thin leather sole with a small heel, a black grosgrain ribbon bow at the front, and a black quilted satin lining. The leather sole is untreated to keep it as soft and comfortable as possible.
