This tie was carefully handcrafted by CINABRE artisans in France, following the same techniques for 3 generations. Our atelier is located in the Loire Valley.
This tie is part of the collection made in collaboration with the brand of the MARINE NATIONALE - the French Navy. We paid homage to the flagship of the French fleet - the Charles-de-Gaulle aircraft carrier - and the sailors who work on it to deploy the Rafale fighter jets. It features scenes of catapult-assisted take-off, a technical feat made possible by a crew of 1,900 sailors in operation. The iconic aircraft marshaller is also depicted, responsible for guiding the pilots off of or onto the flight deck with specific gestures.
An interesting historical footnote is that the aircraft marshallers are known as “Chien jaune” (Yellow dog) in French because of the bright yellow outer garments they wear and the order "Wave off" they use a lot on the American aircraft carriers sounds like a dog barking - "Ouaf-ouaf" in French, the "woof-woof" equivalent.
The fabric is a navy blue mate silk designed in the Cinabre Parisian studio. The tie lining is the signature red twill silk.

This piece is entirely handmade with a red slip stitch making a loop at the bottom of the tie. The fabric will then keep its elasticity and the tie will recover its initial shape after being used.
