This kind of text is a classic for Jules, our groom, who regularly saves the evenings of our guests at the Cinabre Suites. Parisian Sunday nights have a longstanding reputation as a culinary desert, with a pulled-down shutters vibe. Yet, settling in and ordering a drink while half the city is already bracing for their alarm clocks is an absolute treat. Located not far from our Suites and personally tested, here are the four restaurants where we send our guests—guaranteed to beat the end-of-the-week blues:
— Le Cyrano A tiny spot that has kept its Art Nouveau mosaics and speckled mirrors. You squeeze in at the counter or at the elbow-to-elbow tables to enjoy an impeccable cellar and plates with sharp wit. A pure concentrate of Parisian bistronomy, served with panache.
— Scarpetta With its dim lighting (candles on a white tablecloth, please) and beautifully sauced pasta, this Italian spot is as comforting as it gets.
— Faubourg Daimant A trendy address reinventing classic French bourgeois cuisine in vegetarian form: "naughty croquettes" (stuffed with mushrooms and smoked soy paste), but also "indecent polpettes," "umami carpaccio," and a dessert paying tribute to the Snickers bar. Sexy and plant-based, as promised.
— Racines Head to the stunning Passage des Panoramas to sit at Simone Tondo’s award-winning table and add a (Michelin) star to your evening. Perfection.
— Not sleepy yet? Rue Saint-Sauveur packs an impressive concentration of cocktail bars for dodging bedtime until 2 a.m.—even on a Sunday. The trailblazing Experimental Cocktail Club inspired its neighbors. I recommend the refined De Vie (at number 22-24) for the most demanding palates, and the festive aveK (at number 21) to pick up the pace to DJ sets.
