Looking for tickets for the quarter-final?

NICE SHOT!

In this already very sporty month of September, and while I'm spending part of my weekends following the Rugby World Cup matches, I wanted to associate Cinabre with another competition: the Open de France du Jeu de Paume. I'd like to introduce you to this practice and its very secret Parisian club, by giving you the chance to win tickets to some of the key matches (which will console you for not having a ticket for the probable quarter-final of Les Bleus).

YET ANOTHER GAME WITH COMPLEX RULES

This sport may not ring a bell, but it's the ancestor of most racket games, and enjoyed its golden age in France between the 14th and 18th centuries. History will recall that it was on a jeu de paume court, during the French Revolution, that the French deputies swore an oath not to part company until a constitution had been drawn up. Numerous expressions testify to the influence of this sport in our country. Épater la galerie” echoes the spectators who follow the matches from a gallery, and ‘qui va à la chasse...perd sa place’ refers to a phase of the game. In short, jeu de paume is a major sport.

For me, jeu de paume is above all a family affair, as it was my father who introduced me to the sport and its (very, very) many rules. He's an enthusiast and has taken part in several senior world championships.

I also really appreciate the spirit that endures in the various clubs around the world: places steeped in history, timeless, with a community always ready to welcome club players from the other side of the globe. I was able to visit the Tennis and Raquet Club in Boston for a game of Jeu de Paume this summer.

THE FRENCH OPEN

Jeu de Paume 2023 - Cinabre
The Open de France is one of the Grand Slam events that brings together the world's best players.

As part of the French Open, of which Cinabre is a partner, I invite you to attend the men's semi-finals of the tournament over a drink, this Friday September 29 at 5:00 pm. First come, first served.

Of course, in these places with a very Anglo-Saxon accent, dress code is of particular importance. While white attire is obligatory on the pitch, in the locker rooms and bar, you can wear a tie or club bow tie, a motif we never tire of and which is available in a variety of styles at Cinabre.
